CASA Announces 2015 Board Officers & New Members

LANCASTER, PA (February 19, 2015) – Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lancaster County is pleased to announce CASA’s new Board of Directors officers for 2015.

Former Vice President, Scott Landis, Esq., Partner at Barley Snyder, has been named CASA’s new Board President. In addition to President the other new Board officers are:

Scott LandisMr. Landis has been at Barley Snyder since September of 1993. He became a partner in 2001. Mr. Landis practices law in the areas of intellectual property, and finance & creditors’ rights. He counsels individual, business, and institutional clients on copyrights and intellectual assets. Mr. Landis also devotes his practice to intellectual property litigation and creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. Mr. Landis has served as a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Until 2014 he served as the chair of the Finance and Creditors Rights practice group. Mr. Landis currently serves as the chair of the firm’s Technology Committee. Mr. Landis earned his J.D. magna cum laude from The Dickinson School of Law.

Mr. Landis taught at Lebanon Valley College in the Digital Communications Department from 2005 to 2011. He has also volunteered extensively in the community. Mr. Landis currently serves on the Annual Dinner Advisory committee for the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He has been a board member for the Crispus Attucks Neighborhood Organization, a member of the Manheim Area Recreation Commission, and was the advisory board vice chair for the Lancaster County Children and Youth Agency.

Mr. Landis is a member of the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania, the International Trademark Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Commercial Law League, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is also the Business and Bankruptcy Section chair for the Lancaster County Bar Association.

CASA is pleased to welcome two new Board Members who start their three year terms in 2015: Mr. Sal Franqui and Mr. Christopher Bright.

Mr. Sal Franqui is the Harvest District Executive at the PA Council, Boy Scouts of America. He has a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Youth Ministry from Nyack College and has served as an Associate Pastor at the Lancaster First Assembly of God. Mr. Franqui has experience in sales, analysis, fund-raising, public speaking, finance, public relations, community relations, and outreach.

Mr. Christopher Bright is Lead Pastor at Lancaster City Assembly. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Lancaster Bible College and has been a Houseparent at Milton Hershey School, a Therapeutic Support Specialist at Philaven, a Resident Aide at Prescott House, and a Case Manager at Tabor Community Services. Since 2006, Mr. Bright has also served as an Associate Pastor at First Assembly of God.
