CASA Hosts 4th Annual SuperHero Run

Father and Son with Matching Superhero Capes CASA Hosts 4th Annual SuperHero Run

LANCASTER, PA (May 19, 2015)– Grab your capes, power-up your Batmobile, and suit up! CASA’s 4thAnnual SuperHero 5K and Kids Fun Run is HERE! Every kid needs a hero but children who have been abused need SuperHeros! Join us Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 8:30am at Landisville Middle School.

Come out and show your support for the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) cause. Come dressed as your favorite SuperHero or just as you are!

CASA will be offering awards for the top three male and female finishers in each age group. There will also be awards given for Best Individual Costume, Best Family/Group Costume, and Best Children’s Costume.

The SuperHero 5K is a fast, flat course and runs through local neighborhoods before returning to Landisville Middle School. New to the race this year is electronic chip timing.

Following the 5K is a Kids Fun Run. Children 3 to 12 run age appropriate distances on the track. Children registered for the Kids Fun Run by May 28 are guaranteed a SuperHero cape along with their goodie bag.

Before and after the race enjoy a fun and FREE family festival with games and activities including a bounce house, face painting, and a balloon artist.

"The SuperHero theme of this event makes it a unique 5K. With the Kids Fun Run and family festival it is really a great day for the whole family,” stated Jessica Laspino, Executive Director of CASA of Lancaster.

Register online at Proceeds benefit CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Lancaster County.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lancaster County exists to provide a qualified and compassionate court-appointed volunteer advocate to every child who is abused and neglected, to ensure the fundamental human right of having a safe, nurturing, and permanent home is met. CASA works with Lancaster County’s most vulnerable youth – those who have experienced abuse and neglect so severe that they have been removed from their homes and placed into the foster care system.
