Lancaster, PA (December 5, 2013) – CASA of Lancaster County has promoted Kayla Weiler, MSW to Program Director. Ms. Weiler is responsible for program operations that currently serve over 130 children annually with a volunteer force of over eighty.
CASA provides qualified and compassionate court appointed volunteers who advocate for children who are abused and neglected to ensure the fundamental human right of a safe, nurturing, and permanent home is met.
"Ms. Weiler’s education in social work coupled with her experience, and most importantly her passion for aiding vulnerable populations, makes her an asset to the CASA organization,” stated Ms. Jessica Laspino, Executive Director.
Prior to her promotion, Ms. Weiler, of Lancaster, was a Case Supervisor with CASA where she began her employment in the summer of 2011. Kayla is a lifelong resident of Lancaster County. She is an alumnus of the School District of Lancaster.
"I chose to work for CASA of Lancaster County because I have a passion for human rights and believe that all people, especially vulnerable populations, deserve to have their basic needs and human rights met. I took this opportunity to help support the children in the foster care system by making sure they are supported so they can achieve their best possible functioning regardless of their placement in care." states Weiler.
Prior to working for CASA, Ms. Weiler was an intern with Lancaster General Hospital’s Behavioral Health Unit.
