CASA Welcomes New Board Members
LANCASTER, PA (July 16, 2015) – CASA is proud to announce three additions to its Board of Directors: Rebecca Caplan, Jack Muscalus, and J. Seroky. Each of the newly elected board members will serve a three year term.
Rebecca Caplan describes her motivation for joining the Board of Directors, "I am so honored to be a part of CASA. As a mother, nothing resonates more than helping to serve and improve the lives of children in our community. They need a voice and through CASA, we can give them one.”
Ms. Caplan is the Executive Director of the US PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Charitable Foundation – a separate, 501c3 public charity and also leads PwC’s Impact Investing arm of the national Corporate Responsibility team. In her role on the Foundation, she oversees strategic and operational elements while working directly with the Foundation Board of Trustees and Executive Committee.
Ms. Caplan has been an active leader in volunteer activities for many years and serves on the Board of Trustees of Developmental and Disability Services of Lebanon Valley, which provides training and education services to children with developmental delays and adults with disabilities. She graduated from Villanova University with a BA in Business Administration and Chinese and studied at Fudan University in Shanghai, China.
Jack Muscalus describes his commitment to CASA, "I joined CASA because I believe that children are our greatest asset. Part of CASA’s mission is to ensure the fundamental human right for children to have a safe, nurturing, and permanent home. I love the work that CASA does and I am thrilled to be part of such a caring organization.”
Mr. Muscalus is a Financial Planner with the Kohlmaier Muscalus Group, an Ameriprise Private Wealth Advisory Practice. He is a Certified Financial Planner and a Retirement Income Certified Professional. Mr. Muscalus graduated from Lehigh University with a BS in Business and Economics where he was an All American baseball player. He is a husband and father of two boys.
J. Seroky is the President of High Concrete Group. Mr. Seroky graduated with a BA in Economics from the University of Florida. He went on to receive an MBA in Finance, Economics, and Marketing from the Hough Graduate School of Business at the University of Florida. Before joining the Board of Directors, Mr. Seroky graduated from CASA’s Winter 2015 advocate training class. Mr. Seroky also serves on the Business Performance Council of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute.
Executive Director, Jessica Laspino stated, "These new board members greatly increase the talent pool of our board, and bring necessary skills. They round out a hardworking Board of Directors that will serve CASA well.”
CASA of Lancaster County provides qualified and compassionate court appointed volunteer advocacy for children of abuse and neglect in the belief that every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and permanent home. CASA volunteers believe that growing up in a safe home is a fundamental human right.
