Charity 8 Ball Tournament Raises $35,000 for CASA
LANCASTER, PA (April 26, 2018) – The Lancaster County 8 Ball League helped raise $35,000 for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lancaster County through its annual Harry Hutchinson - Jack Byerly Charity 8 Ball Tournament held Feb. 22 to 25 at Riverside Camping Association, 730 East Strawberry Street, Lancaster, PA.
Riverside annually donates the use of their club for the weekend event. The Lancaster County 8 Ball League donated proceeds in the amount of $20,000 and the Riverside Camping Association added another $15,000 in donations. Checks were presented on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Riverside Camping Association. The charity 8 ball tournament was established in memory of Harry Hutchinson and Jack Byerly, two of the founding members of the Lancaster County 8 Ball League. CASA’s Executive Director, Jessica Laspino, stated that money from the tourney "goes 100 percent toward the program" and will pay for community awareness, recruitment and training of volunteers.
