Do you know a ‘Hero in the Life of a Child’?
Lancaster, PA (August 8, 2013) – Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lancaster County invites you to nominate an "everyday hero” in the life of a child. CASA is seeking nominations for community members who have truly made an exceptional effort, whether in their personal or professional lives, to effect positive change in the life of a child.
Jessica Laspino, CASA Executive Director, stated, "It is our hope, that when reading the award description, someone immediately comes to mind - a teacher, a coach, a friend, or a neighbor – who deserves recognition for their efforts, energies, and time given to a child.”
The ‘Hero in the Life of a Child’ award will be presented at CASA’s Fourth Annual Heroes Gala and Benefit Auction on Friday, November 1 at Casa di Fiori (The Inn at Leola Village). The event is an evening of fun, food, and dancing. Guests enjoy a cocktail hour followed by heavy hors d'oeuvres and a short program. The program honors the ‘Hero in the Life of a Child’ award recipient. CASA also awards a Volunteer of the Year designation. Each hero and volunteer honoree is nominated from their respective peer groups.
Throughout the evening, Gala guests participate in both silent and live auctions vying for goods and services primarily from local vendors. Price of admission is $75.00 per person and includes two drink tickets. The event begins at 5:30 pm.
‘Hero in the Life of a Child’ nominations are due to the CASA office no later than Monday, September 2, 2013. Nomination forms are available on the website at www.casalancaster.org/gala.aspx or by contacting the office at (717)208-3280 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
