There’s No Place like Home
CASA Hosts 6th Annual Gala
LANCASTER, PA (October 8, 2015) – Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lancaster County is hosting the Sixth Annual Heroes Gala and Benefit Auction on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Bent Creek Country Club, 620 Bent Creek Drive, Lititz, PA 17543.
CASA's Heroes Gala and Benefit Auction is an evening devoted to fine food, dancing, and fun while raising awareness of volunteer advocacy for children who have been abused and neglected in Lancaster County. Throughout the evening, guests participate in both silent and live auctions vying for goods and services primarily from local vendors.
The theme this year is "There’s No Place like Home.” This highlights CASA’s vision, that every child who is abused and neglected will have a safe, permanent home and the support to become a healthy, empowered adult, thereby breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect.
"This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the work of our CASA Advocates,” stated Jessica Laspino. "We have unique and exciting auction items and a really celebratory environment. The Heroes Gala helps to grow CASA, and truly makes a difference in our ability to serve to the most vulnerable children in our community.”
WGAL’s Jere Gish will emcee the event.
CASA will honor CoreSource as the organizational recipient of the "Hero in the Life of a Child” award for their long-term and generous commitment to CASA in the community.
At the event, CASA will recognize Brian Klugh as the Clark Family Foundation Volunteer of the Year. Mr. Klugh is a CASA volunteer nominated by professional child welfare colleagues as ideally demonstrating the principles of child advocacy.
CASA provides court appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children with the belief that every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and permanent home. CASA is central to fulfilling society's most fundamental obligation by making sure a qualified, compassionate adult will fight for and protect a child's right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the security of a loving family.
