Sophie big.PNG CASA Welcomes New Advocate Volunteer Manager

LANCASTER, PA (October 30, 2018) – Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lancaster County is pleased to welcome Sophia Wanner to the staff. Ms. Wanner is CASA’s newest Volunteer Manager and will be assuming the cases of recently retired Volunteer Manager, Brian Klugh.

Sophia was raised in Lancaster, PA and is a graduate of McCaskey High School. After High School, Sophia moved to Philadelphia to attend Temple University, where she received her BA in Spanish and Psychology. Since graduation, she has spent her time working with children with disabilities and children in under-served communities of Philadelphia. In her spare time, she loves traveling and has lived and spent time in Mexico, Spain, Chile, and enjoys traveling throughout the US as well. Sophia is thrilled to be bringing her passion and drive back to her Lancaster community, "I am honored to be a part of CASA and to be helping give these children the life they deserve. I am truly humbled by our advocates and the work they do here."

CASA’s need for more staff is ongoing because of the growing number of children entering Lancaster County’s foster care system due to abuse and neglect. With a CASA, children spend less time in foster care and receive more help while in the system. To learn how you too can help give children a better life, visit CASA online at casalancaster.org, email casa@casalancaster.org, or call 717-208-3280.
