Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lancaster County is celebrating its move to new offices by hosting an open house on Friday, January 31 at 53 N Duke St, Suite 218 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
CASA provides court appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children in the belief that every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and permanent home.
CASA is central to fulfilling society’s most fundamental obligation by making sure a qualified, compassionate adult will fight for and protect a child’s right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the security of a loving family.
From being appointed its first case in January 2010, CASA has grown to serve over 80 children daily and to impact the lives of over 135 children annually.
In October, CASA moved out of its original home in the Central Penn College building at 1905 Old Philadelphia Pike. Central Penn had provided in-kind office space to CASA from early 2009 until moving day in October 2013.
"We will always be grateful to Central Penn for its generosity in providing office space for CASA. We grew beyond the available space and found new offices in Lancaster that are well-suited to our purposes.” stated Jessica Laspino, Executive Director.
Open house attendees will be treated to a tour of the new facility, light refreshments, and the opportunity to view a video about CASA and the impact CASA volunteers have on the lives of children in the foster care system.
The open house is free to the public. Due to limited space, guest registration is required by calling CASA at (717)208-3280 or emailing email@example.com.
